Steve has been active in both private teaching piano and trombone and in teaching group keyboard lessons for adults in a music store setting.
Music in Society
As a society it is sad to see that music has become a optional activity for children. Research has shown that learning to play a musical instrument promotes brain activity and development at an early age. It also has been shown to help increase reading and math skills. By taking lessons and playing with ohers music promotes social skills, such as social interaction and public speaking by using recitals and concerts. It also has been atributed to teaching self discipline and teamwork. However, we believe that those are the extra benefits of learning music. The main goal for you or your child to have a fun and rewarding hobby. We believe the aim should be that all students, young and young at heart should have the opportunity to experience the thrill that music has to offer.
